Carolyn Lichtenberg of JT Farm Wins Double Blues in Both the USET and USEF Medals at the North Fork Classic

Calverton Long Island, NY – August 28 – Last week turned out to be an extremely successful show for JT Farm at the North Fork Classic. JT Farm is led by trainer/rider Jimmy Toon. JT Farm has two locations, in Wellington, FL and South Salem, NY.

Continuing her success in the equitation ring, Carolyn Lichtenberg took the spotlight at the show. The talented junior rider swept the field in both the USET and USEF Medal classes with blue ribbons in each. Lichtenberg rode to the fantastic wins on JT Farm’s I Toon. In addition to coming out on top in the USET and USEF medals, Lichtenberg was also a close third in the WIHS and the PHA Medal class.

“She was great. I haven’t been showing her much this summer, so it was more of a warm-up for the Hamptons this week. The class was on the smaller side, but everyone in class was a great rider, so the competition was tough,” said Lichtenberg. “The course was fair; it was a little challenging, but not bad. Some of the turns were a little difficult.”

Lichtenberg was a star in the USEF medal as well. Placing first, she was called back on top for the jumping phase after winning the flat phase. Overall, Lichtenberg was feeling confident for the Hamptons and enjoyed North Fork.

“The USEF was great. We won the flat phase, so we were called back on top, so that is always a great feeling. I loved the horse show; it was my first time there. I would defenitaly go back again next year,” commented Lichtenberg.

Besides doing well at the North Fork Classic show, Lichtenberg and I Toon did well at other shows this summer. I Toon is kept on a regimented program at home to keep her at peak performance level.“I have been riding her at home a lot and we brought her to Vermont this summer. We did very well there, also. She gets ridden six days a week and we jump her only once or twice a week,” said Lichtenberg.

Brianne Link had a great show as well and was holding her own in the pony divisions. On her pony Foxcroft Veronsky, Link was champion in the Children’s Pony Hunters, winning all four classes. Link continued to dominate in the M&S Children’s Hunter Classic, picking up both first and second-place ribbons. Aboard her pony Asgard Mercury, Link won the classic. She was second in the classic on Foxcroft Veronsky.

In the Pony Jumpers, Link continued her success. She picked up both champion and reserve champion in the division. Her pony Tallyman was champion in the Pony Jumpers and she was reserve champion on “King.”

Tayfoon and Jimmy Toon were on point last week. The pair was champion in the First Year Green Hunters. Ellen Toon had another spectacular show with her horses and cleaned up the Amateur Owner Hunter division. She was both champion and reserve champion in the Amateur Owner Hunters. As champion, she collected her award on her horse Attache. In the reserve champion spot, Toon and her horse Invincible accepted the prize.

JT Farm and team will continue showing this week at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. The show runs from August 24-31, 2008.
