The second week of competition, the I Love New York Horse Show, was held from July 1-6, 2008. JT Farm is a hunter/jumper show stable based out of North Salem, NY, and Wellington, FL. Jimmy Toon was a star as usual in the hunter divisions. Riding in the First Year Green Working Hunters, Jimmy was champion of the division on Tayfoon. Riding to win on the JT Farm horse, he brought home three firsts, two seconds and a third place ribbon. Last week it was Ellen Toon's turn in the spotlight. She was both Champion and Reserve Champion in the Amateur-Owner Working Hunter 36 and Over division. As Champion, she rode Attache, who picked up two firsts, and three second place ribbons. As Reserve Champion, she was aboard Invincible. Toon and Invincible received two firsts, a third and a sixth place ribbon. "Both of the horses were just so good. Winning both a champion and reserve doesn't happen that often; it is always very exciting when that happens," said Toon. "When you show two horses, it is always the dream you have going in to be champion and reserve." Jimmy Toon's student Carolyn Lichtenberg did well in the equitation and hunters. In the National PHA Equitation Class, Section B, Lichtenberg finished fourth on JT Farm's Avalon. In the Large Junior Hunter 16-17 division, she took home third, fourth and seventh place on The Boss, also owned by JT Farm. JT Farm will continue on to compete next at the Vermont Summer Festival for the week of July 9-13, 2008.
